Ballerin football is a Gaelic football club based in Ballerin, County Derry, Northern Ireland. The club was founded in 1919 and currently competes in the Derry Intermediate Football Championship.
History
Ballerin football club was founded in 1919 by a group of local men who were passionate about Gaelic football. The club quickly established itself as a force in the local leagues and championships, winning its first Derry Intermediate Football Championship title in 1928.
Ballerin has enjoyed a number of successful periods in its history, winning the Derry Intermediate Football Championship a further six times in 1932, 1942, 1944, 1954, 1970, and 1982. The club has also reached the final of the Derry Senior Football Championship on three occasions, in 1947, 1966, and 1983.
Recent years
Ballerin has struggled in recent years, failing to win a Derry Intermediate Football Championship title since 1982. However, the club has shown signs of improvement in recent seasons and is hoping to challenge for silverware in the near future.
