History
Astro Thunder were founded in 2015 by a group of football enthusiasts. They started out playing in the Kolkata District League and quickly rose through the ranks. In 2019, they won the Calcutta Football League Second Division and were promoted to the First Division.
Astro Thunder have made a name for themselves as a young and upcoming team. They are known for their attacking style of play and their commitment to developing young talent.
Recent Season
Astro Thunder had a successful season in 2022-23. They finished third in the Calcutta Football League First Division, just missing out on promotion to the I-League 2nd Division.
The team was led by their captain, Suvam Sen, who was named the Player of the Season. Sen scored 12 goals in the league, including a hat-trick against Mohun Bagan Reserves.
Future
Astro Thunder are looking to build on their recent success and challenge for promotion to the I-League 2nd Division in the coming seasons. They have a strong team of young players and a committed management team.
The team is also looking to expand their youth academy and develop more talent from Kolkata.
