Astley & Tyldesley Scorpions Football Club is a football club based in Tyldesley, Greater Manchester, England. The club was founded in 1902 and currently plays in the NWCFL Premier Division, the ninth tier of the English football league system.
History
The club was founded in 1902 as Tyldesley St. Annes. They changed their name to Astley & Tyldesley Scorpions in 1919. The club has spent most of its history in the lower divisions of the English football league system. However, they did reach the FA Cup first round in 1968-69, where they lost to Rochdale.
The club's most famous player is Ella Toone, who is currently a member of the England women's national team. Toone was born in Tyldesley and played for the Scorpions' youth team before moving on to Manchester United.
