Astley And Tyldesley Wolves were founded in 1972 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The club initially played in the Astley & Tyldesley Amateur League before joining the Bolton, Bury and District Football League in 1974.
The club has won the Bolton, Bury and District Football League Premier Division on three occasions, in 1997, 2003, and 2019. They have also won the Bolton, Bury and District Football League Challenge Cup on three occasions, in 1998, 2003, and 2019.
