London APSA Football Club
London APSA Football Club is an Asian-founded and majority-Asian team based in Newham, London. They were founded in 1993 and currently play in the Essex Alliance Football League.
The club was originally known as Ahle Sunnah, but changed their name to London APSA in 1995. They were crowned the first-ever Asian League Champions in 1994.
London APSA have a strong youth team, which has produced a number of players who have gone on to play professional football, including Michael Chopra and Anwar Uddin.
History
London APSA was founded in 1993 by a group of friends from East Ham College in Newham. The team was originally known as Ahle Sunnah, but changed their name to London APSA in 1995.
The club's first season was in the London Intermediate League. They won the league in their first season and were promoted to the Kent League.
In 2005, London APSA became one of the first Asian teams to play in the FA Cup. They lost to Welling United in the first round.
The club currently plays in the Essex Alliance Football League. They have won the league twice, in 2006 and 2018.
