Ahl Portugal was founded in 2007 by a group of Portuguese immigrants who wanted to create a football team for the Portuguese community in Leicester. The team started playing in the Leicester Sunday League and quickly rose through the divisions. In 2015, Ahl Portugal joined the Leicestershire Senior League, where they have remained ever since.
