AFC Lightning is a parent/volunteer run, family-friendly local football club based in Great Missenden, South Buckinghamshire. The club was founded in April 2005 and currently has teams for boys and girls from U6 to U16.

AFC Lightning is affiliated to the Berks & Bucks FA and is an FA Charter Standard Club. This means that the club meets the highest standards of coaching, welfare and administration set by the FA.

The club's teams play development and competitive fixtures in the South Bucks Mini Soccer Conference and Wycombe and South Bucks Minor Football League respectively.

History

AFC Lightning was founded in April 2005 by a group of parents who wanted to provide a fun and safe environment for their children to play football. The club started with just one team, but has since grown to over 20 teams.

In 2010, AFC Lightning became an FA Charter Standard Club. This was a major achievement for the club and it demonstrates the club's commitment to providing high-quality football for its players.

AFC Lightning has won numerous trophies and medals over the years. In 2019, the club's U12 team won the South Bucks Mini Soccer Conference Cup.

The South Bucks Mini Soccer Conference is a football league for children aged 5-11 years old. The league was founded in 2005 and currently has over 100 teams.

The league is split into three divisions: Development, Intermediate and Senior. The teams play each other home and away, with the top teams at the end of the season promoted to the next division.

The South Bucks Mini Soccer Conference is a great way for children to learn the game of football and develop their skills. The league is also a lot of fun and provides a great opportunity for children to make new friends.
