AFC Leopards

AFC Leopards is a Kenyan football club based in Nairobi. It was founded in 1964 as Abaluhya United Football Club, and changed its name to AFC Leopards in 1980. The club is nicknamed "Ingwe" (leopards) in Swahili.

History

  • AFC Leopards has won the Kenyan Premier League a record 12 times.
  • The club has also won the Kenya Cup 10 times, and the CECAFA Club Championship 5 times.
  • AFC Leopards' most successful period was in the 1970s and 1980s, when they won the Kenyan Premier League 7 times and the Kenya Cup 5 times.
  • The club has also won the East African Safari Rally twice, in 1974 and 1978.

Stadium

AFC Leopards plays its home matches at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi. The stadium has a capacity of 60,000 spectators.
