Smithswood started well and had a few half chances through Evans and Anderson in the first ten minutes.

GOAL 1-0 They went one up after a great one-two between Evans and Short. Evans laid Anderson through who hit a first time shot into the bottom corner

Fantasy Update Scorer Anderson, Assist Evans

It should of been 2-0 after half an hour as Anderson attacked wide and pulled the ball back to Evans whose first time shot went just over the bar. Just after this chance a great ball by Harris to Thomas got him one on one with the last defender and Thomas cooly took it past him but fired his shot narrowly wide.

Half-Time Handsworth GSOB 0 Smithswood 1

Handsworth came out the blocks on fire and created a few chances but Rooke was on form at the back and stopped a few attacks.

GOAL 1-1 It looked like Smithswood had weathered the storm but poor marking and letting a long ball bounce in the area was their undoing and there striker pounced to make it 1-1

Ryder made a double substitution with Mayers and Hession replacing Harris and Wall as he tried to to get the winner with some fresh legs in the final third of the pitch. Straight away Mayers was in the thick of the action and the two subs linked perfectly as he played in Hession whose first touch just let him down, he was almost in.

GOAL 1-2 With 8 minutes remaining Smithswood made the pressure count. Short whipped a prefect corner in and Evans rose to power home his header and give Smithswood an important three points to retain the top spot in the Premier League

Fantasy Update Scorer Evans, Assist Short
