RWAFA Football Club welcomed Administration Police FC to the Nyumba Sita Stadium on 24 October 2024 for a friendly match that kicked off at 3:20 pm. The home side emerged victorious with a scoreline of 2-1, showcasing their attacking prowess and resilience throughout the encounter.
RWAFA lined up in a classic 4-4-2 formation, which saw Hassan Shee in goal, supported by a back four comprising Hamidu Tabwara on the right, Awali Dzengo and Hassan Ganzori in central defence, and Mohammed Ghazal on the left. The midfield was anchored by Ashraf Gomba and Mohammed Omar in central roles, with Hamisi Swaleh (Cheupe) on the right and Mwinyi Cheupe on the left, providing width and creativity. Up front, Yassir Ngare and Bakari Chonga were tasked with leading the attack, looking to exploit any gaps in the opposition's defence.
The substitutes for RWAFA included Shabani Mwachozi, Hassan Zumo, Hamisi Mwafedha, Juma Adam, Abdillah Mwakombo, and Abdulkarim Mwendo, who would be called upon to make an impact as the match progressed.
The match began with a surprising turn of events as Administration Police FC took the lead in the 13th minute. A well-executed lob from outside the box caught the RWAFA defence off guard, leaving goalkeeper Hassan Shee with no chance to react. This early setback ignited a fierce response from the home side.
RWAFA quickly regrouped and found an equaliser just nine minutes later. Hamisi Swaleh (Cheupe) finished clinically from close range after receiving a precise short pass from Yassir Ngare, bringing the score to 1-1 and lifting the spirits of the home crowd.
The momentum shifted further in RWAFA's favour when Swaleh struck again in the 30th minute, once more finding the back of the net from inside the box. This second goal showcased his poaching instincts and put RWAFA ahead 2-1, a lead they would hold going into half-time.
As the second half commenced, RWAFA made tactical substitutions, bringing on Shabani Mwachozi for Mwinyi Cheupe and Hassan Zumo for Bakari Chonga, both changes aimed at maintaining their advantage and controlling the midfield.
The match continued with both teams vying for dominance, but it was RWAFA who faced disciplinary issues as Hassan Ganzori received a yellow card for a bad tackle in the 75th minute. The tension escalated further when Yassir Ngare also found himself in the referee's book for a similar offence in the 100th minute.
In a bid to freshen up the squad, RWAFA made further substitutions, introducing Abdillah Mwakombo for Ngare and Abdulkarim Mwendo for the injured Ganzori in the closing stages of the match. Despite the late pressure from Administration Police FC, RWAFA held firm, demonstrating solid defensive organisation and resilience.
The final whistle confirmed RWAFA's 2-1 victory, a result that not only boosts their confidence but also highlights the effectiveness of their attacking play, particularly from Hamisi Swaleh (Cheupe), who was instrumental in securing the win. The friendly served as a valuable exercise for both teams as they prepare for upcoming challenges.
