Johnson Paint Trophy QF 3: A close Quarter Final of dubious quality sawFletcher's Wolves defeat Neil's Wimbledon 2-0. The first half was goalless as both defences did their job (Spence and Brett clearing high balls from the back) giving Pete and SuBo little to do, with Griffin coming closest for Wimbledon when he backheeled a corner towards goal, while Pete did well to limit the angle of Dan and Crozier's runs.
Wolves took the lead early in the second half when Robert Crozier made the most of some confused defending, and despite a great first save from Pete, Crozier did well to calmly volley the rebound high into the net. The Crazy Gang had their chances to equalise but Neil, Griffin and Griffiths all saw shots blocked while Patto hit the side-netting. The Wanderers sealed the win when SuBo sent a raking ball towards Fletch, who saw his hopeful low shot completely wrong-foot Adam and nestle in the bottom left corner.
