History
The Youth League was founded in 2013 as a way to develop young footballers in India. The league was initially played in a zonal format, with each zone having its own champion. The champions of each zone then competed in a national final to determine the overall winner.
In 2017, the format of the Youth League was changed to a national league. This meant that all teams played each other once, regardless of their location. The top two teams in each age group qualified for the national finals.
The Youth League has been a successful competition since its inception. It has helped to develop many young footballers who have gone on to play professional football.
