Wycombe & District Senior Section
The Wycombe & District Senior Section is an amateur football league in Buckinghamshire, England. It was founded in 1902 and currently has 20 teams competing in its Premier Division and Senior Division. The league is affiliated to the Buckinghamshire FA.
History
The Wycombe & District Senior Section was founded in 1902 by a group of football enthusiasts from the High Wycombe area. The first season of the league consisted of just 8 teams, but it quickly grew in popularity and by the 1920s it had over 20 teams competing. The league has continued to grow ever since and now has over 100 teams affiliated to it.
The Wycombe & District Senior Section has produced a number of professional footballers over the years, including former England internationals Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters. The league is also a popular breeding ground for young talent, with many players going on to play for professional clubs after graduating from the Wycombe & District Senior Section.
Current Season
The current season of the Wycombe & District Senior Section is the 2022-2023 season. The Premier Division is currently being led by Prestwood, who have won 10 of their 12 games so far. Great Missenden are in second place, just two points behind Prestwood. The Senior Division is being led by Hazlemere Sports, who have won 9 of their 12 games so far. Downley Albion are in second place, just one point behind Hazlemere Sports.
