Wolverhampton District Sunday Football League
The Wolverhampton District Sunday Football League is an amateur football league based in Wolverhampton, England. It was founded in 1922 and currently has 5 divisions, with a total of 60 teams. The league is affiliated to the Football Association and its teams compete in the FA Sunday Cup and the FA Vase.
History
The Wolverhampton District Sunday Football League was founded in 1922 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just 8 teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 60 teams. The league has been affiliated to the Football Association since 1924.
The league has a long and rich history, and it has produced some of the best amateur footballers in the country. In recent years, the league has won the FA Sunday Cup on three occasions (2006, 2012, and 2018).
Divisions
The Wolverhampton District Sunday Football League currently has 5 divisions:
- Division One
- Division Two
- Division Three
- Division Four
- Division Five
The teams in each division play each other home and away, and the top teams at the end of the season are promoted to the next division. The bottom teams are relegated to the lower division.
