Warley Sunday League

The Warley Sunday League is an amateur football league based in the West Midlands, England. It was founded in 1923 and currently has over 100 teams competing in five divisions. The league is affiliated to the Birmingham County FA.

History

The Warley Sunday League was founded in 1923 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The first season saw just six teams compete, but the league quickly grew in popularity and by the 1930s it had over 30 teams. The league was suspended during the Second World War, but it resumed after the war and continued to grow in size. In the 1970s, the league expanded to include a sixth division.

The Warley Sunday League has produced a number of talented players over the years, including former England internationals Trevor Francis and Cyrille Regis. The league also has a strong tradition of community involvement and has been praised for its work in promoting football in the local area.
