Warley and District Sunday League
The Warley and District Sunday League is an amateur football league based in the West Midlands, England. It was founded in 1923 and currently has over 100 teams competing in five divisions. The league is affiliated to the Birmingham County FA.
History
The Warley and District Sunday League was founded in 1923 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league initially had just four divisions, but it has since expanded to five divisions. The league has been home to some notable players over the years, including former England internationals Trevor Francis and Paul Ince.
Divisions
The Warley and District Sunday League currently has five divisions:
- Division One
- Division Two
- Division Three
- Division Four
- Division Five
The top two teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the next division.
Cup competitions
The Warley and District Sunday League also runs a number of cup competitions, including:
- The Sunday Senior Cup
- The Sunday Junior Cup
- The Sunday Challenge Cup
- The Sunday Charity Cup
- The Sunday Plate
The Sunday Senior Cup is the most prestigious cup competition in the league. It is open to all teams in the top two divisions.
