Introduction
The Uhlsport Hellenic Football League is an English men's football league covering an area including the English counties of Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, and Berkshire. It is currently sponsored by uhlsport, a German sportswear company.
The league operates two divisions, the Premier Division at Step 5 of the National League System and Division One at Step 6. The Premier Division champions are promoted to the Southern League Division One Central or South, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division One. The Division One champions are promoted to the Premier Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Hellenic League Division Two.
The league was founded in 1895 as the Hellenic Football Association. It was renamed the Hellenic Football League in 1972. The current champions of the Premier Division are Cribbs, while the current champions of Division One are Pershore Town.
History
The Hellenic Football Association was founded in 1895. The first season of the league was played in 1896-97, with 12 teams competing. The league has grown steadily over the years, and currently consists of 26 teams in the Premier Division and 22 teams in Division One.
The league has been sponsored by a number of companies over the years, including Umbro, Mitre, and Adidas. The current sponsor is uhlsport.
The league has produced a number of professional footballers, including Geoff Hurst, Steve Bull, and David James.
Current Season
The 2023-24 season is the 71st season of the Hellenic Football League. The Premier Division season began on August 6, 2023, and is scheduled to end on April 29, 2024. The Division One season began on August 13, 2023, and is scheduled to end on May 6, 2024.
The current leaders of the Premier Division are Brimscombe & Thrupp, while the current leaders of Division One are Abingdon United.
