UCT Res League
The UCT Res League is an amateur football league for students and staff of the University of Cape Town. The league was founded in 1994 and currently has over 50 teams competing in a variety of divisions.
Divisions
- Premier Division
- First Division
- Second Division
- Third Division
- Fourth Division
The Premier Division is the top division in the league and is contested by the best teams in the league. The First Division is the second tier of the league, followed by the Second Division, Third Division, and Fourth Division.
Format
The league is played in a round-robin format, with each team playing each other team once. The top two teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, while the bottom two teams in each division are relegated to the lower division.
Venues
The league games are played at various venues on the University of Cape Town campus. The main venues are the Rondebosch Oval, the Green Mile, and the Upper Campus Sports Fields.
