The league was founded in 1921 as the Scunthorpe & District League. It was renamed the TSW Printers Scunthorpe & District Football League in 2015 after a sponsorship deal with TSW Printers.
The league has been won by a variety of clubs over the years, including Scunthorpe United Reserves, Briggensians, and Epworth Town.
