The Pioneer Youth League
The Pioneer Youth League (PYL) is an amateur football league in the South West of England. It was founded in 1968 and is affiliated to Devon County FA. The PYL offers youth football to age groups U7s to U16s, with a pathway, either into U18s or Adult football.
History
The PYL was founded in 1968 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league initially consisted of just a few teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 30 clubs and 169 teams.
The PYL has a strong commitment to developing young players. The league runs a number of development programs, including coaching courses and tournaments. The PYL also works closely with Devon County FA to ensure that all players have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Current season
The current season of the PYL began in September 2022 and is due to end in May 2023. The league is divided into a number of divisions, based on age group and ability.
The PYL also runs a number of cup competitions, including the PYL Cup, the PYL Challenge Cup, and the PYL Plate. These competitions provide players with the opportunity to compete for silverware and to gain valuable experience.
