CM Flooring Consett & District Sunday League
The CM Flooring Consett & District Sunday League is an amateur football league in Consett, County Durham, England. It was founded in 1923 and currently has 20 teams competing in two divisions.
History
The league was founded in 1923 as the Consett & District Sunday League. It was renamed the CM Flooring Consett & District Sunday League in 2023 after being sponsored by CM Flooring, a local flooring contractor.
The league has been won by a variety of teams over the years, including Consett Steel Club, Consett Scotch Arms, and Consett Top Club. The current champions are Consett Top Club, who won the title in the 2022-23 season.
Structure
The CM Flooring Consett & District Sunday League currently has 20 teams competing in two divisions: Division One and Division Two. Each team plays each other team in their division once, home and away. The top two teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, while the bottom two teams in each division are relegated to the next division.
Current Season
The 2023-24 season is currently underway. The top teams in each division at the end of the season will qualify for the playoffs, with the winners of the playoffs being promoted to the next division.
