Thanet Sunday Football League

The Thanet Sunday Football League is an amateur football league based in Thanet, Kent, England. It was founded in 1972 and currently has over 100 teams competing in 10 divisions.

History

The league was founded in 1972 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The inaugural season saw 12 teams compete in a single division. The league has since grown steadily and now has over 100 teams competing in 10 divisions.

The league is named after Miles & Barr, a local insurance company that has been a major sponsor of the league since its inception.

Season

The league season runs from September to May. Each team plays each other team in their division once, home and away. The top team in each division at the end of the season is promoted to the next division, while the bottom team in each division is relegated to the next lower division.

The league also runs a number of cup competitions, including the Miles & Barr Thanet Sunday Cup, the Thanet Sunday League Challenge Cup, and the Thanet Sunday League Charity Cup.
