Thanet & District Football League
The Thanet & District Football League is an amateur football league based in Thanet, Kent, England. It was founded in 1904 and currently consists of 14 divisions, ranging from the Premier Division to Division 14.
The league is affiliated to the Kent County Football Association and is a member of the National League System at tier 11 of the English football pyramid.
History
The Thanet & District Football League was founded in 1904 as the Thanet Football League. The league was originally a single division, but it was expanded to two divisions in 1906 and to three divisions in 1912.
The league was suspended during the First World War, but it resumed in 1919. The league was further expanded in the 1920s and 1930s, and it reached its peak size in the 1950s, when it consisted of 12 divisions.
The league has been somewhat reduced in size in recent years, but it remains one of the most popular amateur football leagues in Kent.
