Tg Sports Amateur Football League
The Tg Sports Amateur Football League is an amateur football league based in Ireland. It was founded in Dublin on the 23rd May 1954 and currently caters solely for over 35 football. The league is the largest in Ireland providing football at this level.
History
The Tg Sports Amateur Football League was founded in 1954 by a group of amateur footballers who wanted to provide a competitive environment for players who were not able to commit to full-time football. The league started with just a few teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 teams competing in it.
The league has been at the forefront of change in Irish amateur football. In the early days, the league only played in the summer, but it now plays all year round. The league has also introduced new competitions, such as the Over 45 Cup and the Over 50 Cup.
Competitions
The Tg Sports Amateur Football League currently runs the following competitions:
- Premier Division
- Division 1
- Division 2
- Division 3
- Over 35 Cup
- Over 45 Cup
- Over 50 Cup
The Premier Division is the top flight of the league and is contested by the best teams in the country. The winner of the Premier Division is crowned the Amateur Football League champions.
The other divisions are also contested by a number of teams and provide a competitive environment for players of all abilities.
