Sussex Intra-mural League
The Sussex Intra-mural League is an amateur football league based in Sussex, England. It was founded in 1972 and currently has over 100 teams competing in various divisions. The league is affiliated to the Sussex County Football Association.
History
The Sussex Intra-mural League was founded in 1972 by a group of local footballers who wanted to create a more competitive and organized league for amateur players. The league started with just a few teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 teams competing in various divisions.
The league is affiliated to the Sussex County Football Association, which means that its teams are eligible to compete in the FA Vase and other national competitions. The league has also produced a number of players who have gone on to play professional football, including former Brighton & Hove Albion player Nicky Forster.
Divisions
The Sussex Intra-mural League currently has 10 divisions, ranging from the Premier Division to Division 10. The Premier Division is the top division and is played on a Saturday afternoon. The other divisions are played on a variety of days and times.
The league also has a number of cup competitions, including the Challenge Cup, the League Cup, and the President's Cup.
