Introduction
The Superleague is an amateur football league in Malaysia that was founded in 1992. It is managed by an outside entity beyond the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), called Super Club Sdn. Bhd. The league is currently inactive.
History
- The Superleague was founded in 1992 as a replacement for the Liga Semi-Pro, which was divided into two levels. The Superleague was the top level league, while the Premier League was the second level league.
- The Superleague ran for a few seasons, but it folded in the early 2000s due to financial problems.
- In 2018, there were plans to revive the Superleague, but these plans were ultimately unsuccessful.
Teams
- Some of the teams that competed in the Superleague include Hong Chin, Muar FA, PKNK from Kedah, DBKL, PKNS, BSN, LPN, BBMB, Proton, PPC and PKENJ.
