Sunday Womena
Sunday Womena is an amateur football league for women in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 2009 by a group of women who wanted to play football but didn't want to join a male-dominated league. The league is now one of the largest amateur women's football leagues in the UK, with over 1,000 players.
Rules
The Sunday Womena league follows the Laws of the Game as set out by FIFA. However, there are a few exceptions to the rules, which have been made to make the game more accessible to women. For example, there is no offside rule in Sunday Womena, and teams are allowed to have up to 12 players on the field at a time.
Format
The Sunday Womena league is a round-robin format, with each team playing each other once. The top four teams at the end of the season qualify for the playoffs, with the winner being crowned champions.
Venues
The Sunday Womena league plays its games at a variety of venues across the UK. Most games are played on Sunday mornings, but some games are also played on Saturday evenings.
