Introduction
Summer League 1 is an amateur football league based in Glasgow, Scotland. It is affiliated with the Scottish Amateur Football Association (SAFA) and has 52 teams competing in 4 divisions. The league was founded in 2008 and plays its matches on Sunday afternoons from September to May.
The league is open to all amateur footballers, regardless of age or experience. The aim of the league is to provide a competitive and enjoyable environment for players to enjoy the game of football.
Divisions
The Summer League 1 is divided into 4 divisions:
- Premiership
- Division 1
- Division 2
- Division 3
The teams are promoted and relegated between the divisions based on their final league position.
Cup competitions
In addition to the league, the Summer League 1 also runs a number of cup competitions, including:
- Summer League Cup
- Summer League Challenge Cup
- Summer League Shield
The cup competitions are open to all teams in the league and provide an opportunity for teams to win silverware.
