Suffolk Youth Football League
The Suffolk Youth Football League (SYFL) is an amateur football league for players aged 7 to 18 in the county of Suffolk, England. It is affiliated to the Suffolk FA.
History
The SYFL was founded in 1965 and currently has over 200 clubs and 10,000 players.
The league is divided into a number of divisions, based on age and ability. The top division is the Premier Division, followed by Division 1, Division 2, and so on. There are also cup competitions for each age group.
Format
The SYFL season runs from September to April. Each team plays each other team in their division once, home and away. The top teams in each division are promoted to the higher division, while the bottom teams are relegated to the lower division.
Competitions
In addition to the league competitions, the SYFL also organizes a number of cup competitions, including the Suffolk Youth Cup and the Suffolk Youth Vase.
The Suffolk Youth Cup is the most prestigious cup competition in the league. It is open to all teams in the SYFL. The winner of the cup qualifies to enter the FA Youth Cup.
The Suffolk Youth Vase is the second most prestigious cup competition in the league. It is open to teams in the lower divisions of the SYFL.
