Introduction
The Suffolk & Norfolk League is an amateur football league in England. It is a member of the Eastern Counties Football Association and is currently in the ninth tier of the English football league system.
The league was founded in 1897 and currently has 32 teams competing in two divisions. The top division is known as the Premier Division, while the second division is known as Division One.
The league champions are promoted to the Thurlow Nunn League, while the bottom two teams in each division are relegated to the Norfolk & Suffolk Combination League.
History
The Suffolk & Norfolk League was founded in 1897 by a group of clubs from Suffolk and Norfolk. The inaugural season saw 12 teams compete, with Lowestoft Town winning the title.
The league has undergone several changes over the years, including the introduction of a second division in 1900 and the expansion of the league to 32 teams in 2018.
The league has produced a number of professional footballers, including former England internationals Chris Sutton and David Beckham.
Current Season
The current season of the Suffolk & Norfolk League is the 2022-23 season. The Premier Division is currently being led by Diss Town, while the Division One leaders are Acle United.
The season is scheduled to end in May 2023.
