Southern Independent Schools Lent Term League
The Southern Independent Schools Lent Term League is an amateur football league for boys and girls in independent schools in the South of England. The league is run by The Football Association (FA) and is played during the Lent Term, which is typically from February to March.
History
The Southern Independent Schools Lent Term League was founded in 1920. The original league consisted of just 12 teams, but it has since grown to include over 100 teams. The league is divided into a number of divisions, based on the age and ability of the players.
Format
The Southern Independent Schools Lent Term League is a league competition. Each team plays each other team in their division once, home and away. The top teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, while the bottom teams are relegated to the lower division.
