The Solihull & District Oakbourne Sunday League is an amateur football league based in Solihull, West Midlands, England. It was founded in 1921 and currently has 36 teams competing in three divisions.
History
The league was founded in 1921 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The inaugural season featured 12 teams, and the first champions were Solihull Town.
The league has grown steadily over the years, and currently has 36 teams competing in three divisions. The top division is the Premier Division, followed by Division 1 and Division 2.
Structure
The league season runs from September to May, with each team playing each other twice. The top two teams in the Premier Division are promoted to the Premier Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division 1.
The winners of the Premier Division cup are eligible to enter the FA Vase, a national competition for amateur clubs.
Recent Seasons
The 2021-22 season was won by AFC Highgate Elite, who finished the season unbeaten. The runners-up were B C United, and the third-placed team was Coronation Star.
The 2022-23 season is currently underway. The current leaders are Maypole FC, followed by Quinton Athletic FC and AFC Highgate Elite.
