Introduction
The Skopje Amateur Football League (SAFL) is an amateur football league in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. It was founded in 1950 and is currently composed of 24 teams. The league season runs from September to May, with each team playing each other twice. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to the Macedonian Third League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Skopje Second League.
History
The SAFL was founded in 1950 as the Skopje Workers' Football League. It was renamed the Skopje Amateur Football League in 1992, following the independence of North Macedonia. The league has been won by a number of different teams over the years, with FK Vardar being the most successful club with 12 titles.
