Shropshire FA
The Shropshire Football Association (Shropshire FA) is the governing body of football in Shropshire, England. It is affiliated to the Football Association (FA) and is responsible for the promotion and development of football in the county.
History
The Shropshire FA was founded in 1879 and is one of the oldest football associations in England. It originally covered the whole of the county, but in 1998 the Telford and Wrekin Football Association was formed to cover the Telford and Wrekin unitary authority.
The Shropshire FA has a number of leagues and cups, including the Shropshire Premier League, the Shropshire County League, and the Shropshire Senior Cup. It also runs a number of grassroots initiatives, such as the Wildcats programme for girls and the Just Play programme for children.
