Sheffield & Hallamshire Walking Football league
The Sheffield & Hallamshire Walking Football league is an amateur football league for people aged 50 and over. It was founded in 2015 and currently has over 20 teams competing in three divisions.
The rules of walking football are similar to those of regular football, but with some modifications to make the game more accessible to older players. For example, players are not allowed to run or jog, and tackling is restricted.
The league is open to players of all abilities, and there are teams of varying levels of competitiveness. The season runs from September to April, and each team plays each other team in their division twice.
The league is affiliated with the English Football Association (FA), and the winners of each division qualify for the FA Walking Football National Cup.
