Sheffield & District Junior League
The Sheffield & District Junior Sunday Football League (SDJSL) is an amateur football league in Sheffield, England. It is affiliated to the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA and has over 1,000 teams from Under 7 to Under 18, including Pan-disability football.
History
The SDJFL was founded in 1922. The inaugural season consisted of 12 teams, all from Sheffield. The league has grown steadily over the years and now has teams from across South Yorkshire.
Structure
The SDJFL is divided into 10 divisions, each of which is further divided into two sections. The top four teams from each section at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, while the bottom four teams are relegated to the previous division.
The league also has a cup competition, the SDJFL Challenge Cup. The cup is open to all teams in the league and is played over a knockout format.
Recent seasons
The most recent SDJFL champions are Ecclesall Rangers. They won the title in the 2022/23 season, finishing two points ahead of second-placed AFC Pogmoor.
The current SDJFL Challenge Cup holders are Abbey Lane. They won the cup in the 2022/23 season, defeating AFC Dronfield in the final.
