Severn Valley Youth Football League
The Severn Valley Youth Football League (SVYFL) is an England Accredited League that supports over 3,870 local boys and girls to enjoy organised, safe, regular football matches every season.
The league was formed in 2016 following a merger of the old Gloucester and Stroud Youth Leagues. It currently has 50 local youth football clubs, 239 teams, and operates across a number of age groups, from Under-7s to Under-18s.
League Structure
The SVYFL is divided into a number of divisions, based on age and ability. The top division is the Premier Division, followed by Division 1, Division 2, and so on. There are also a number of cup competitions, including the Challenge Cup, the Floodlit Cup, and the Vase.
The league season runs from September to April, with each team playing each other team in their division home and away. The top teams in each division are promoted to the next division, while the bottom teams are relegated.
How to Get Involved
If you are interested in getting involved in the SVYFL, there are a number of ways to do so. You can register your child to play football, volunteer as a coach or referee, or simply come along to watch a match.
