Introduction
Serie 1 is an amateur football league in Italy. It is the fourth tier of the Italian football league system, below Serie B, Serie C, and Serie D.
The league was founded in 1973 as the Campionato Interregionale, and was renamed Serie C2 in 1981. It was renamed Serie 1 in 2010.
The league is divided into two groups, Group A and Group B, with each group consisting of 18 teams. The teams play each other twice, once home and once away.
The top two teams in each group at the end of the season are promoted to Serie D, while the bottom four teams in each group are relegated to Eccellenza.
