Selby Junior Football League
The Selby Junior Football League is an amateur football league for children in the Selby area of North Yorkshire.
The league is affiliated to the West Riding County Football Association and currently has over 3000 children with teams from U7 to U18 participating each weekend.
The league incorporates over 400 teams covering an area including Castleford, Garforth, Goole, Leeds, Selby, Tadcaster, Wakefield and York.
History
The Selby Junior Football League was founded in 1968.
The league has grown significantly over the years and now has over 400 teams participating.
The league is always looking for new teams to join and welcomes applications from all clubs.
Competitions
The Selby Junior Football League runs a number of competitions for teams of all ages.
- The Premier Division is the top division in the league and is contested by the best teams in the area.
- The Division One is the second tier of the league and is also a competitive division.
- The Division Two is the third tier of the league and is a good introduction to competitive football for younger players.
- There are also a number of cup competitions, including the Selby Junior Cup and the Selby Junior Shield.
