San Diego Development Academy
The San Diego Development Academy (SD DA) is an amateur football league for boys and girls in the San Diego area. It is a partnership between U.S. Soccer and the top youth clubs in the region, and it is designed to provide the best youth players in the area with an environment to develop and compete at the highest level.
History
The SD DA was founded in 2012, and it has since become one of the premier youth soccer development programs in the United States. The Academy has produced a number of players who have gone on to play professionally, including Cade Cowell of the San Jose Earthquakes and Alex Mendez of Club Brugge.
Program Structure
The SD DA is divided into four age groups: U-12, U-13, U-14, and U-15/16. Each age group has a fall and spring season, and each season consists of a league schedule and a playoff tournament. The Academy also offers a winter training program for players in the U-13 and U-14 age groups.
The SD DA is committed to providing its players with the best possible training environment. The Academy's coaches are all certified by U.S. Soccer, and they have a wealth of experience in developing young players. The Academy also has access to top-quality facilities, including the San Diego Soccer Complex and the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center.
Selection Process
Players are selected for the SD DA based on their talent, potential, and commitment to the program. The Academy holds tryouts each year for players in the U-12, U-13, and U-14 age groups.
Cost
The cost of participating in the SD DA varies depending on the age group and the number of seasons played. The cost includes registration fees, league fees, and tournament fees.
