Introduction
The Rotherham Sunday League is an amateur football league based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. It was founded in 1920 and currently has over 100 teams competing in 10 divisions.The league is affiliated to the Sheffield & District FA and the English FA. It is not officially part of the English football league system, but is recognised at various levels by the county football associations.
The league's headquarters are at the Round Table Centre in Rotherham. The current chairman is John Smith.
Season structure
The league season runs from September to May. Each team plays 22 matches, with the top teams at the end of the season being promoted and the bottom teams being relegated.
The league also has a cup competition, the Brian Beeley Knock Out Cup. The cup is named after Brian Beeley, a former chairman of the league.
Recent seasons
The 2021-22 season was won by AFC Lord Nelson, who finished the season unbeaten. The runners-up were Brinsworth Crusaders.The 2022-23 season is currently underway. The current leaders are AFC Trades.
