Introduction
The Rooney is an amateur football league based in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 2017 by Wayne Rooney, the former professional footballer. The league is open to players of all abilities, and it has over 100 teams competing in it.
The Rooney is a non-profit organization, and it is committed to providing a fun and competitive environment for players of all ages. The league also supports a number of local charities.
Rules
- The league is played on a 11-a-side basis.
- The games are 90 minutes long, with two halves of 45 minutes each.
- There is no offside rule.
- The ball must be touched by a player's foot or head in order to score a goal.
Format
The Rooney is divided into a number of divisions, based on the level of ability of the teams. The top division is the Premier Division, and the bottom division is the Division 10.
The teams play each other once in the regular season. The top teams in each division qualify for the playoffs, which determine the champions.
