Introduction
Queensland football is an amateur football league played in the state of Queensland, Australia. It is governed by Football Queensland (FQ).
The league has a number of divisions, including the Queensland Premier League (QPL), which is the top division. The QPL is a semi-professional league, but most of the other divisions are amateur.

History
The first Australian rules football match in Queensland was played in 1879. The game was played between a team of Queenslanders and a team of Victorians.
The first organized Australian rules football competition in Queensland was the Brisbane Australian Football League, which was formed in 1886. The league had four teams: Brisbane, South Brisbane, Kangaroo Point, and Toowong.
The Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL) was formed in 1903. The QAFL is the oldest Australian rules football league in Queensland.
Current Structure
Football Queensland (FQ) is the governing body for Australian rules football in Queensland. FQ has a number of divisions, including:

The QPL is the top division in Queensland football. It is a semi-professional league, with each team playing 18 games per season.
The FQPL 1, FQPL 2, FQPL 3, FQPL 4, and FQPL 5 are all amateur divisions. The number of teams in each division varies.
