Lancashire County Walking Football League
The Lancashire County Walking Football League is an amateur football league for players aged 50 and over. It is affiliated to the Walking Football Association (WFA).
History
The league was founded in 2016 by a group of enthusiasts who wanted to create a more accessible and less physically demanding form of football for older players. The league has grown rapidly since then and now has over 50 teams competing in a variety of divisions.
Rules
- The game is played on a smaller pitch than regular football.
- There are no sliding tackles allowed.
- The ball must be passed every three seconds.
- There is no offside rule.
Current season
The current season is the 2022-23 season. The league is divided into three divisions: the Premier League, the Championship, and the Division One.
The current champions are Boca Seniors, who won the Premier League title in the 2021-22 season.
