Portsmouth Youth League U16 A
The Portsmouth Youth League U16 A is one of the top youth football leagues in the south of England. It is a competitive league with over 4000 boys and girls signed up to play. The league is divided into 20 divisions, with each division having 10 teams.
History
The Portsmouth Youth League was founded in 1920 and is one of the oldest youth football leagues in the country. The U16 A division was created in 1990.
Qualification
Teams qualify for the Portsmouth Youth League U16 A by winning their respective U15 divisions. Teams can also qualify by winning the Portsmouth Youth League Cup or the Hampshire County Cup.
Rules
- The league is played on a Saturday afternoon.
- Each team plays 20 games in the season.
- The top two teams in each division qualify for the playoffs.
- The winner of the playoffs is crowned the U16 A champions.
