Introduction
The Port Elizabeth Football Association (PEFA) is an amateur football league based in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. It was founded in 1950 and currently has over 100 member clubs.
PEFA organizes a variety of competitions for players of all ages and abilities, including the Premier League, First Division, Second Division, and Third Division. It also organizes cup competitions, such as the PEFA Cup and the PEFA Knockout Cup.
PEFA is affiliated to the South African Football Association (SAFA).
History
The PEFA was founded in 1950 by a group of football enthusiasts in Port Elizabeth. The first chairman of the PEFA was Mr. J.H. Britz.
The PEFA has grown steadily over the years and currently has over 100 member clubs. The Premier League is the top division of the PEFA and is played by the best teams in the region.
The PEFA has a long and proud history of developing young footballers. Many former PEFA players have gone on to play professional football, including Shaun Bartlett, Steven Pienaar, and Dean Furman.
