Introduction
Parklife 5s Sunderland is an amateur football league based in Sunderland, England. It was founded in 2016 and currently has over 100 teams playing in a variety of divisions.
The league is open to all players aged 16 and over, regardless of ability. Matches are played on 5-a-side pitches at various locations around Sunderland.
The league aims to provide a fun and competitive environment for players of all levels. It also has a strong focus on socialising and making new friends.
Rules
The rules of Parklife 5s Sunderland are based on the official FIFA 5-a-side rules. However, there are a few minor differences.
- The game is played on a 20x40-yard pitch.
- There are five players per team, with no goalkeeper.
- Matches are played over two halves of 20 minutes each.
- There is no offside rule.
- A goal can only be scored from inside the penalty area.
Season structure
The Parklife 5s Sunderland season runs from September to May. There are three divisions, each with 10 teams.
The top two teams in each division are promoted at the end of the season, while the bottom two teams are relegated.
There is also a cup competition, which is open to all teams in the league.
