NRF Veterans Football League
The NRF Veterans Football League is an amateur football league for players over the age of 35 in the Northern Region of New Zealand. The league was founded in 2003 and currently has over 40 teams competing in three divisions.
Divisions
- Division 1: For players over the age of 35
- Division 2: For players over the age of 40
- Division 3: For players over the age of 45
Rules
The NRF Veterans Football League follows the rules of the New Zealand Football Federation, with some modifications to accommodate the older players. For example, there is no offside rule in the NRF Veterans Football League.
Season
The NRF Veterans Football League season runs from February to September. Each team plays each other team in their division once, for a total of 12 games. The top two teams in each division at the end of the season qualify for the playoffs.
Playoffs
The playoffs are a single-elimination tournament. The semi-finals and final are played at a neutral venue. The winner of the final is the NRF Veterans Football League champion.
