Nottinghamshire Sunday Football League
The Nottinghamshire Sunday Football League (NSFL) is an amateur football league in Nottinghamshire, England. It was founded in 1922 and currently has over 200 teams competing in 10 divisions. The league is affiliated to the Nottinghamshire County Football Association.
History
The NSFL was founded in 1922 by a group of football enthusiasts in Nottinghamshire. The first season of the league consisted of just 10 teams, but it has since grown to become one of the largest amateur football leagues in the country.
The NSFL has been home to some famous players over the years, including former England internationals Kevin Keegan and Peter Shilton. The league has also produced a number of professional footballers, including current Nottingham Forest defender Michael Dawson.
Current Structure
The NSFL currently has 10 divisions, ranging from the Premier Division to Division 10. The top two teams in each division are promoted at the end of the season, while the bottom two teams are relegated.
The NSFL also has a cup competition, the Nottinghamshire Sunday Cup. The cup is open to all teams in the league and is one of the most prestigious amateur football competitions in the country.
