NIBFA National Youth League
The NIBFA National Youth League (SBYL) is an amateur football league for boys and girls in Northern Ireland. It is operated by the Northern Ireland Boys' Football Association (NIBFA) and is sponsored by Subway.
History
The SBYL was established in 2008 initially with 45 teams in 3 age groups. Since then, the league membership has grown and now offers 6 age groups from U12 to U18 with an annual membership of approximately 140 teams.
The league is divided into two divisions, the Premier Division and the First Division. The Premier Division is the top division and the teams in this division compete for the NIBFA National Youth League title. The First Division is the second division and the teams in this division compete for the NIBFA National Youth League Shield.
Cup competitions
In addition to the league competitions, the SBYL also organizes a number of cup competitions. The main cup competitions are:
- The NIBFA National Youth Cup
- The NIBFA National Youth Shield
- The NIBFA National Youth Challenge Cup
The NIBFA National Youth Cup is the premier cup competition in the league and is open to all teams in the SBYL. The NIBFA National Youth Shield is open to teams in the Premier Division, and the NIBFA National Youth Challenge Cup is open to teams in the First Division.
